The Indefinite Strike action which was embarked on by the NANNM DELSUTH Union on the 9th of January 2016 as a result of the assault and battery on a DELSUTH Nurse by an airforce personel Mr Ovie Doghro on the 5th of January 2016 has been called off.

 

You would recall that on the above date Nursingworld had broken the news about the strike action and details that had brought about it. Our release had it that Ovie Doghro had on the above date beat up a Nurse on the Hospital Grounds to the extent of striping her Naked. This attack was reported to have taken place in the male medical ward where Mr Ovie's Father was admitted and passed away. 

 

 

Breaking News: Nurse Battery, NANNM DELSUTH Begins Indefinite Strike

 

Before going on strike, NANNM DELSUTH in a memo to the Hospitals management had demanded for the following:

1. The arrest of the assailant Mr Ovie Doghro and his prosecution in the court of law

2. An apology letter to the nurse from Mr Ovie

3. Payment of restitution and for injuries and damagies to the nurse 

4. The provision of protection & security to the hospital by its management to prevent such futher occurences 

 

In a Memo sent to Nursingworld, the NANNM DELSUTH Chairman Mr Oghenero Okpoji says the reason the strike action was called off was because of the actions taken by the hospitals management to protect its healthcare workers especially the Nurses as they have sued the Nigerian Airforce, Minister of Defence, Attorny General of The Federation and Mr Ovie Doghro for N500 Million.

 

Also security measures have been put in place to prevent any such occurances from happening again.

 

Compensation is currently being processed to the victimised Nurse with every other unresolved cases being worked out between NANNM and the Hospitals Management
