Job title: Chief Nursing Officer

The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the hospital system’s nursing department and its daily operations in order to deliver clinical care consistent with international best practice.  He/She is expected to be comfortable developing/implementing policies, standards and protocols, and creating a nursing environment that fosters collaboration with other health professionals. The CNO will also be responsible for ensuring that patient-care, clinical and staffing standards are met. As a key member of the hospital management team, the CNO will also advise the rest of the senior management on best practices in nursing and patient care, nurse recruitment, training, retention and establish performance improvement activities and assessments. The CNO will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

 

Qualification

·         Bachelor’s Degree in nursing,

·         Masters Degree or additional qualification in nursing administration and management

·         Registration with the National Association of Nurses and Midwifery Council of Nigeria and must be licensed to practice.

 

 

Experience

·         8 to 10 years relevant work experience in the health sector, part of which must have been in a senior nursing position within or outside Nigeria.

·         Proven record of policy development and implementation

·         International/world class experience at an internationally accredited facility will be an advantage
