Clinix Healthcare, a medical diagnostic institution that started in Kenya, has opened a second mega health centre in Lagos, which the owners said has been designed to provide high quality but affordable medical health services to Nigerians.

Owners of the Nigerian centre have also promised to establish at least one ultra modern diagnostic centre in each state of the federation, with the proviso of having more than one in a state, where necessary.

Chairman, Clinix Healthcare, Lagos, Pastor Itua Ighodalo, who stated this at the inauguration of the centre, located on the FESTAC end of Okota Road, Amuwo Odofin, also said the new health facility would host a mother and child centre for delivery of high quality and affordable infant and maternal health services.

Ighodalo said the essence was to contribute to the elimination of medical tourism abroad by offering Nigerians what they go in search of overseas.

He said, “This is the second branch of Clinix Healthcare Limited in Nigeria. The first was inaugurated last year in Ilupeju. Ours is a purpose-built centre equipped with the latest technology of international standards in radiology, cardiology, pathology, endoscopy and vital services in dentistry and optometry.”

He said the centre was also fitted with standard operation theatre for incision and biopsies, endoscopy, daycare surgeries as well as intensive care unit in case of emergencies and critically-ill referrals.”

Although the centre would operate as a fee-paying enterprise, Ighodalo has assured that the needs of the indigent would be taken care of.

“We have a foundation that caters for the health needs of indigent persons. We are surely going to be providing free medical services through this foundation.”

Lagos State Governor, Akinwumi Ambode, who commended the initiative, said the state had set up a suitable platform to encourage more private sector participation for effective and affordable healthcare delivery.

Ambode, who was represented at the event by the Deputy Governor, Dr. Oluranti Adebule, said, “We are delighted that the private sector partnership has yielded another state-of-the-art heath facility with the opening of Clinix ultra-modern diagnostic centre.

“Medical diagnostic, as we all know, is the bedrock of effective treatment. With more facilities like this, we can achieve accurate and quick diagnosis of ailments and proffer immediate treatment.”
