The Committee of Chief medical director/ Medical Directors of federal tertiary hospitals have called for the full implementation of the "no-work-no-pay" rule as enshrined in the trade dispute act, insisting that this will curb the incessant strikes actions that have bedeviled the health sector
In a communique issued at the end of its 76th Regular meeting heldo on 21st to 22nd March 2016 at Nicon luxury hotel abuja and made available to medicalworldnigeria.com, the CMDs in addition recommended provision of adequte funds for uniform implementation of skipping of grade levels by tertiary hospitals.
They also recommended that the federal governemnt should support the full entrenchment of public private partnership in federal tertiary hospitals. They also added that relevant sections of the law should be invoked in the event of any act of lawlessness and violence during strike actions within the hospital premises
