Overall Responsibilities
To provide technical and operational support to the National & state TB Control program for the implementation of TB Programs
Specific Responsibilities
1. To work with the MSH Senior Technical Advisor, TB to provide guidance to the National & state TB control program on the implementation of innovative approaches for improving TB case detection in facilities
2. To carry out monthly supportive supervisory visits to facilities
3. Conduct mentoring and on-the-job training of staff on SOPs for improving TB case detection in facilities
4. To monitor progress in the implementation of innovative approaches for improving TB case detection in health facilities
5. Foster clear communication about project activities, plans and organizational policies within MSH and between strategic projects and partners
6. Work with TB CARE I team on planning, implementing as well as monitoring and evaluation of overall TB CARE I plan in Nigeria
7. Support the Senior Technical Advisor in implementing all MSH/TB CARE I activities in consistent with TB CARE I Nigeria plan, NTBLCP strategic plan and MSH quality standard under the supervision of MSH TB Regional Advisor for Africa.www.medicalworldnigeria.com
8. Provide support to NTBLCP in improving TB case detection, program management, information management for the programmatic management of Drug-resistant TB and strengthen supervision including monitoring and evaluation.
9. Ensure timely preparation and submission of information and reports to MSH, TB CARE I
Qualifications
1. Medical doctor with postgraduate training in public health or equivalent
2. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in public health
3. Good strategic thinking and planning skills
4. Strong analytical skills and knowledge of monitoring and evaluation
5. Knowledge of and experience in training and capacity building
6. Demonstrated operating in a management culture built on consensus and results
7. Demonstrated intermediate computer skills such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as experienced with project planning applications
8. Ability to work effectively and independently in a team-based structure
9. Ability to travel up to 40% percent of the time within Nigeria
10. Fluency and excellent written and oral communication skills in English

I. Sustain or exceed 84% TB case detection rate and 87% treatment success rate
II. Treat successfully 2. 55 million new sputum-positive TB cases
III. Diagnose and treat 57, 200 new cases of multi-drug resistant TB
