We are seeking a Country Programmes Manager (CPM) to provide leadership in the management of a portfolio of programmes with a Nigerian component. Malaria Consortium has been operational in Nigeria since 2008 first as a lead of the large DFID funded Support to National Malaria Programme (SuNMaP), and now as lead or partner on several programmes. In 2012, Malaria Consortium fully established itself in Nigeria with a long-term commitment and opened a country office.

Location: Abuja, Nigeria
Contract: 2 years

The CPM will initially provide oversight inputs on Knowledge Management and on management of operations of the country office pending appointment of further staff to these roles. The CPM will work closely with the Country Director, Country Technical Coordinator and the Country Finance Manager to deliver the accountabilities outlined below.
With strong communication and interpersonal skills and an open, collaborative and flexible style, the successful candidate will have:.
• Postgraduate qualification in International development, public health, business administration, project management or similar.
• Significant hands-on experience in project management or management of large or multi-country programmes
• Strong team management skills with experience of working in disparate teams Experience working with funding agencies such as DFID, USAID and UNITAID
• Experience of working on grant applications and of preparing budgets
• Experience of preparing narrative and financial annual donor reports
• Experience of funding activities in ways that cover both costs and generate operating margins
