The Coalition of Civil Society Groups for Transparency and Good Governance (CCSGTGG) has cautioned Nigerians over what it called unguarded petitions against public officers based on fictitious accusations.
Reacting to the controversy and petitions against the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) in a statement on Wednesday by the coalition’s National Coordinator Comrade Ali Abacha, Deputy National Coordinator Alhaji Bello Danfulani and National Secretary Mr. Ijewa Zeb Obioma, said the petition war raging in the MLSCN smack of blackmail and bad blood.
The group advised members of staff of the council to be dutiful and focused on service delivery as against engaging in unrewarding acts and behaviour capable of negating the promises which their careers hold for them.

While applauding the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the Council, Prof. Anthony Emeribe, for his efforts in completing the National Headquarters of the council within a short period, it urged him to be magnanimous to his opponents. “It would be recalled that a couple of disgruntled staff of the MLSC recently took to unguarded and misguided writing of petitions based on fictitious charges and accusations against the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the Council, Prof. Anthony Emeribe. The petitioners did not spare even the Board members of the council who they accused of receiving some financial gratification for renewing the Registrar’s tenure.
“Upon investigation by selected members of the coalition, it was discovered that the petitioners had acted out of ambitiousness. One of the petitioners currently on interdiction has record of official recklessness, behaviour disorder and unstable challenges. It was discovered that the successful relocation of the Council from Lagos to its Abuja national headquarters did not go down well with some staff that had personal homes in Lagos, and were, thus, averse to the movement to Abuja,” it said.
