MEDICAL AND DENTAL COUNCIL OF NIGERIA INTERNAL/EXTERNAL MEMO TO MDCN STAFF & PUBLIC
DISCOUNTINUATION OF ALL MANUAL PROCESSES OF SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS FOR ANNUAL PRACTICING LICENSE, PAYMENT AND PROCESSING
The MDCN wishes to inform all its Staff, Stakeholders and the general public that with effect from 11th November, 2015 all manual processes involved in the submission of applications, processing and payment of fees for all its services and in particular, Annual Practicing Licenses at all MDCN offices and through the offices of the Director Medical Services in all the 36 States of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory have been discontinued.
The MDCN would no longer accept hard copies of annual practicing license application forms and payment for its services through certified bank cheques (drafts), cash and Point of Sales (POS) transactions. However, submission of hard copy applications forms for other forms of registration would still be accepted in the mean time. Details are contained on the MDCN website, but all payments for any of its services is only through electronic means provided by the Federal Government (Treasury Single Account) i.e the Remita Platform.
This major change has been necessitated by the desire of the Council to automate all its processes and this has been further strengthened by the directives of the Federal Government of Nigeria for all its MDA’s to compulsorily maintain a Treasury Single Account domiciled at the Central bank of Nigeria.
To this effect doctors desirous of any service of the Council are to ensure that they visit the Council’s website and portal for the steps and guidelines to be followed in order to update their personal data. Doctors are to note that this can only be possible after they must have obtained their login details from the Council which would be automatically sent to their respective email addresses once they are known to the Council. Likewise all Payments of registration fees are to be done online through the Council’s website which is linked to the Government Remita platform using the doctors ATM debit/Credit cards.
Staff of Council, are hence forth to ensure that only request of doctors who have complied with the online processes are attended to and all manual forms of submission of applications (especially annual practicing license) and payments are to be out rightly stopped.
Thank you
