Ebonyi Records First Lassa Fever Death

The Ebonyi state government yesterday confirmed the first case of Lassa fever in the state.
 
This came barely four days after the state commissioner for Health Dr. Umezurike denied having  any recorded case in the state.
 
The state governor, Engr. Dave Umahi,  made the disclosure during the town hall meeting  held in Abakaliki yesterday.
 
Umahi explained that the victim who died on Monday in his hostel was a 26 years old male student of the State University, (EBSU).
 
He said the state ministries of Health and Education, to quarantine close friends including his roommate and those living in the same hostel with the deceased.
