The Ag.Accountant General at Ebonyi state Pastor Mrs Queen Elizabeth Agwu has recommended that the executive governor approves the payment of N5,000 monthly alawi to Corper pharmacists in the State.
According to a memo obtained by Jude Chiedu of Medicalworld Nigeria which was titled "downward review of corps memers monthly allowance", Mrs Agwu wrote: Sequel to the dwindling economic realities of the country, Ebonyi state in particular and your directive that all our expenditure be reviewed in line with the financial realities on ground, i hereby request for the downward review of consolidated health emoluments and salary structure (CONHESS) and consolidated medical emoluments and salary structure (CONMESS) used for payment of monthly allowance to corps members serving in ebonyi state health institutions.
Currently, Pharmacists serving in the state recieve N91,000 as monthly allowance respectively, But Mrs Agwu has urged that his excellency approves the downward payment to N5,000.
Others affected include Medical Doctors who previously earned N130,000 now to be paid N15,000. Nurses who previously earned N79,000 would now be paid N5,000 too, same with other auxillary corps members. If approved, the memo should have taken effect from september 2015.
