Ekiti FMC CMD Begs Striking Doctors To Return To Work

The Chief Medical Director, Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido-Ekiti, Dr. Majekodunmi Ayodele, has appealed to striking Resident Doctors to return to work, as the Federal Government has started looking into their demands.

Resident Doctors in the Hospital had joined their colleagues in other federal health institutions to down tools since May over non-implementation of ‘skipping’ by the institutions.

At a press conference in Ido-Ekiti on Wednesday, Dr Ayodele called on the Association of Resident Doctors (ARD) to consider the plight of members of the public, who are suffering because of the strike and return to work.

The Doctors in FETHI are accusing the Chief Medical Directors of not honouring directive of the Federal Ministry of Health on the matter.

However, the CMD disclosed that the Federal Government had not started the implementation of the ‘grade skipping’ as being argued by the ARD.
