Medical doctors on the pay-roll of Lagos Dtate Government Under the aegis of Medical Guild (MG) have appealed to members of the public towards prevailing on Governor Babatunde Fashola and Commissioner for Health, Dr Jide Idris, to release their August and Septment salaries without further delay. 

 

 Chairman of MG, Dr Biyi Kufo, who was accompanied by some pfficers of the group and Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), spoke at the weekend while chatting with journalists in Lagos State where they made passionate call on people of the state to intervene in the ongoing face-ogg between doctors and the state governement towards avoiding being led to another industrial action. 

 

 They claimed that the salaries were alleged with held following the last industrial action embarked on by NMA, stressing that since the strike was suspended on August 25m the state government has refused to pay salaries of memebers of MG and expressed disappointment at the government's action as most of them have been left impoverished.

 

 The last strike embarked on by NMA commenced on July 1 and we returned to work on August 25 after it was suspended.

 

Following the suspension of the action, the state government began victimisation against members of MG by withholding our salaries.

 

 "Now, some of us are in dire need as we can't afford to pay our children's school fees.

 Lagos is the only state in the country that has taken this step and the administration cited 'no work, no pay' policy for its actions, but the applied to our members only,"
