FMC Owerri Crisis: MHWUN Raises Alarm Over FG’s Reinstatement Of CMD

Posted on: Fri 06-11-2015

The Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria (MHWUN) says the reinstatement of the embattled Chief Medical Director of the Federal Medical Centre, Owerri, Dr Angela Uwakwem by the health ministry is an attempt to cover allegations of misappropriation against her ahead of the inauguration of a health minister.

MHWUN at a joint press conference with the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives and Nigerian Union of Allied Health Professionals said facts available shows that the CMD has breached public service rules.

The National President of MHWUN, Biobelemonye Joy Josiah said, “we are here to reemphasize our position on the dangers of allowing Uwakwem to resume back at FMC, Owerri in spite of the various glaring acts of misconduct against her.”
