This is to convey the modest compliments of the supervising honorable minister of health and to draw your attention to the fact that members of the joint heealth sector union (JOHESU) embarked on industrial action on midnight of the 6th november 2014 and have since been on strike.

 

They have despite thus been fully paid for the months of november and December. the most disturbing fact is that these striking workers are even earning incentives and promotional arrears.

 

they were also erroneously paid an extra salary in december 2014 making it the 13th month salary for them. a case in point at lagos university teaching hospital where doctors have not been paid december salary whereas those on strike (JOHESU) received an extra salary in the month of december.

 

Our prayer is that this situation is investigated and rectified in any of the affected tertiary health institution urgently. Meanwhile further salary payment to the striking health workers should be suspended till further notice. To this end, the IPPIS desk office of the federal ministry of medicalworldnigeria.com health has been mandated to work with the relevant units of your office to ensure that this is effected.
