ABAKALIKI- MEDICAL Women Association of Nigeria, MWAN, an umbrella body of female doctors, Ebonyi State branch, yesterday, raised alarm over an alleged duping of the association was by fraudsters. 

 

President of the association, Dr. Thecla Ezeonu, who disclosed this at Ndiebor Ishieke Community Primary School, Abakaliki, during inauguration of projects in the school constructed by the association, further explained that the suspected fraudsters came by the name 'Water and Horticulture Development' and defrauded the union under the guise of executing projects for it. 

 

She said: "In the course of these projects, we got into the hands of fraudsters by the name, Water and Horticulture Development' said to be managed by Community Borehole Development assistance programme and Nigerian Houses and Environment Sanitation and Protection programme led by one Dominic Essien. 

 

 

"They flaunted papers and dossiers, and claimed to be affiliated to the Federal Ministry of Works and took our money and abandoned the projects.

 

"We picked up our broken bones and set to work again and we were able to put in place what you see today, within our limited resources. "
