A non-governmental organisation, Fertility Treatment Support Foundation, in partnership with the Nordica Fertility Centre, Lagos, has proposed free fertility screening and treatment for fertility-challenged couples.
This was disclosed by Nordica’s Medical Director, Dr. Abayomi Ajayi, at a press briefing in Lagos.
He said couples should have proper knowledge of causes of infertility, how to treat it, and where.
The proposed exercise, themed, Little Miracles, will be done through an electronic raffle draw, whereby 15 couples would receive free screening, while five couples will receive full fertility treatment.
The contest, conducted every quarter of the year, will take place between September 17 and October 18, while the draw will take place on October 25 at the Civic Centre, Lagos.
Interested couples are enjoined to send a text message entitled FREE IVF, followed by phone number and name of the couple to 09081190600 or 08080800156.
Ajayi said that every fertility-challenged couple in Nigeria is qualified to participate in the draw.
He said through the exercise, the foundation hopes to bring succour to couples who have been unable to have their own children.
He revealed that over the years, FTSF has delivered free fertility treatment to over 126 less privileged couples, helping them to realise their dream to have their own babies.
“FTSF also teaches medical profesionals educative and enlightening programmess in the area of fertility treatment.
He urged the government, corporate bodies and well-meaning individuals to assist in bringing fulfillment to childless families across the nation.
