A team of doctors, nurses and pharmacists from George Regents University in the United States of America, recently offered free medical services to about 1000 patients from the community of Sinchu Alhagie and surrounding in the West Coast Region.

 

Speaking in an interview with the Daily Observer, Professor Ted Kuhn, head of delegation of the visiting medical team, revealed that the team was invited to the country by Dr Mariatou Jallow of RAPHA Clinic to offer free medical services. He said over the past years they offered similar services to 40 countries across the world, noting that this is the first time The Gambia is benefiting from their services.

 

He disclosed that most of the patients they saw were women and children with different medical conditions.

 

During their 12-day mission in the country, he went on, the team would offer similar humanitarian services in communities like Touba Kuta, Busura, Nyofelleh and Kubuneh among other villages in the West Coast Region.

 

Haddy Nget, a beneficiary, thanked the team for the move, affirming that it is helpful. Mai Tamba from Sinchu Alhagie and Saikou Dampha from Tabokoto both expressed similar sentiments, thanking the team for the move.
