Directory Another medical doctor has been abducted by unknown gunmen in Rivers State. Dr Samuel Amaechi, who works at Nobsams Clinic, and is also the traditional ruler of Etche Local Government Area of the state, was abducted at Mile 4 area of Port Harcourt on Thursday night by four armed men.
The kidnappers were said to have attacked him few metres from his home. They shot sporadically into the air before dragging their victim to an unknown location.
While the driver of Dr Amaechi was left to go unhurt, his police orderly was shot dead by the kidnappers when he attemped to chase them.
The Kidnappers are yet to establish contact with his famliy. The Rivers State Police PRO, Ahmad Muhammad has said that it had launched an investigation into the case.
Mr Muhammad said efforts are being made to rescue Dr Amaechi from the kidnappers den unharmed. He said,“Our men are on the look out of where he (Amaechi) is being kept and I can assure you that we anticipate a breakthrough.”
