Health Records Officers Registration Board of Nigeria: Policy Position

This is to call the attention of all persons practicing in Nigeria as Medical/Health Records Officers or Medical/Health Records Technicians to the following policy position of the Health Records Officers' Registration board of Nigeria (HRORBN): 
 
All practitioners are to refer to the enabling laws or ACT establishing the board as registering and regulatory agency of all Health records officers in Nigeria. Particular reference is to be made to CAP 166 LFN 1990, now CAP. H2 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 Section 7 (1) and (2) (a). 
 
 
In view of the above referred provisions, all practitioners are to note that all organization(s) or association(s) having dealings with the board in the name not so specified by this ACT shall henceforth be disregarded. 
 
All certificates and licenses issued by this board with bracket HIM should be presented for renewal and re-issuance, effective from the date of this publication. 
 
For the avoidance of doubt, all practitioners are hereby directed to comply with the name and form as prescribed by this ACTS i.e. Health Records Officers and not any other. 
 
All practitioners should please be guided.
