The incoming government of General Mohammadu Buhari has been urged to revitalise postgraduate training for doctors in the country by ensuring that all necessary infrastructure, equipment and funds needed to carry out trainings in varios specialties of medicine are fully available.

Meanwhile, medical training in private hosptals weekend received a boost as the National Postgraduate College awarded accreditation to Eko Hospital for postgraduate training for O and G, the Chief Medical Officer of the Hosital, Dr, Olusegun Odukoya specifically advocated support for private hospitals providing consultancy training for doctors in the country.
According to Odukoya, outside direct funding, the government can support by putting policies on ground that would reduce the cost of purchasing or importing medical equipment into the country
