1. The Nigerian National Univerities Commission (NUC) Has American Univeristy Benin to the activites of criminals operating illegal satellite campuses in Nigeria using the name of this Universty
2. This University Hereby Declares that as a matter of deliberate corporate policy it DOES NOT and CAN NOT operate any satellite campuses distance learning or tutorial centers anywhere in Nigeria in Paricular nor anywhere else outside its campus in Benin Republic. Neither does this University operate through any consultants, affiliates representatives nor through any third party whatsoever
3. It appears obvious that the alleged criminal activities of illegal satellite campus operators of which this University is the primary helpless victim of circumstances, have thrived seemingly intractably because of the ease with which they escape justice by just simply dropping the name of this University. 4. Therefore this University urges the relevant education authorities especially the Federal Ministry of Education and the National University Commission (NUC) as well as the relevant security operatives and the general public to know that illegal satellite campus operators owners of their operational premises, their academic and administrative staff as well as their students are CRIMINALS and Should be subjected to the full wrath of the laws of the land.
5. In the same vein prospective students are advised not to patronize any online agency but to come down personally to our campus in Benin for enrollment enquiries and formalities.
Finally, suffice it to reiterate that this University respects the territoria integrity of Nigeria and would not engage in activities, that would be inimical to the long-standing good relationship between this University and the Nigerian Educational Authorities not to talk of between our two brotherly and inter-dependent Nation. This University has a name to protect and no financial gains from running any illegal campuses could repair the damages to our integrity and that of our graduates and students which has been occasioned by mistaken identity which we believe has now been finally put to rest with the understanding and cooperation of the relevant regulatory authotities.
