Introducing #ItsAllAbout…
To support International Day of the Midwife 2015, Essentially MIDIRS is creating a short film – called #ItsAllAbout – to celebrate midwives around the world and raise awareness of the challenges faced every day by midwives and mothers globally.
Most importantly, it stars YOU.
We need midwives, midwifery students and mothers from anywhere in the world to record a short clip using their smartphone talking about what makes midwifery and midwives so special.
How it works…
Apple
Step 1: Record your clip using your phone’s video record function.
Step 2: Go to wetransfer.com.
Step 3: Tap the ‘+ Add Files’ button, selecting your clip from your video library.
Step 4: Enter [email protected] in the ‘Friend’s email’ field, and then tap ‘Transfer’ to send your video to us!
Android
Step 1: Go to wetransfer.com.
Step 2: Tap the ‘+ Add Files’ button, selecting your phone’s camcorder/video option to record your clip.
Step 3: Enter [email protected] in the ‘Friend’s email’ field, and then tap ‘Transfer’ to send your video to us!
Desktop computer
Step 1: Film your video clip and upload it to your computer.
Step 2: Go to wetransfer.com
Step 3: Click the ‘+ Add Files’ button, and select your video clip from the location you saved it in.
Step 4: Enter [email protected] in the ‘Friend’s email’ field, and then click ‘Transfer’ to send your video to us!
What we need…
Advice on recording footage:
•Please start by stating your first name, whether you are a mother or midwife, and the country you’re filming from
•The video should be taken via a mobile phone in landscape mode ie holding it horizontally
•Environment is important as we are keen to capture different locations. Perhaps footage could be recorded in or around a place of work or outside in natural light. It is important that the lighting is adequate otherwise the footage might be too dark and unsuitable for use.
•If preferred, the environment can be filmed with just a voiceover
•Midwives can be in uniform or not
•Footage can include clips of newborn babies, skin to skin, waterbirth, breastfeeding, labour etc with parental permission
•Fathers can also be filmed
•Each clip should be up to a maximum of 5 minutes long, please be aware that the footage will be edited accordingly.
