JOHESU /AHPA To Seek Audience With Presidency Ahead of May 29th Handover

The leadership of the Joint Health Sector Unions and Assembly of Healthcare Professional Associations have agreed to seek audience with President Goodluck Jonathan to resolve all her demands ahead of the May 28th Handover date.
 
This was contained in an update on social media by the National PRO of the Association of Medical laboratory scientist of Nigeria Mr Adeyeye Adetunji Tam.
 
According to him, the leadership of the Joint Health Sector Unions and Assembly of Healthcare Professional Associations met on Tuesday 14 April, 2015 to reappraise the state of health in the nation viz-a-viz the suspended nationwide strike and all her demands to the Federal Government led by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan (GCFR).
 
At the end of the long hour meeting, the leaders resolved as follows;
 
1. That a letter should be written to Congratulate the President-elect General Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR)
2. That a letter should be written to congratulate Mr President, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan (GCFR) for his statesmanship.
3. That a letter should be written to seek audience with Mr President to further discuss and finally resolve all her demands.
4. The need to set agenda on health related issues for the in-coming administration of General Muhammadu Buhari.
 
It will be recalled that as a mark of respect for the President, JOHESU/AHPA suspended her nationwide strike across the nation on 2nd February, 2015. 
 
Also in a meeting with Mr President on 1st of February, 2015, he promised to personally ensure the resolution of all JOHESU/AHPA demands after the election.
 
What remains unclear is the way forward as the meeting between the federal government and JOHESU/AHPA remains pending.
