The University of Portharcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH) staffs under the umbrella of JOHESU has embarked on an indefinite strike that has begun this morning as a result of non-compliance of the management of the hospital to correct the irregularities associated with the purported 2014/2015 senior staff promtion results released recently. 

 

The union insists on proper placement of staff and statutory grade level, hence they have decided to go on strike until the management does the needful.

 

The staffs are currently preparing for a mini demonstration to press home their demands, after which the strike action commences
