Ogun State government has cautioned health workers on its payroll against joining their counterparts in federal hospitals, who are on an indefinite strike.
The state government warned that it will invoke the policy of "no-work-no-pay" on them, if they carried out their threat to join the strike.
Last week, the state chairperson of the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives, Mrs Roseline Solarin, in an interview with Rockcity FM News, said that health workers are ready to join their counterparts at the federal hospitals, once they receive a circular from the national body.
The state Health Commissioner, Doctor Babatunde Ipaye, in a Whats-App message to the health workers unions, said Governor Ibikunle Amosun had approved the implementation of "no-work-no-pay policy" against any health workers who join the striking federal health workers.
Already, the strike which is entering the third week, has crippled services in federal hospitals nationwide, including the Federal Medical Centre, Idia Aba, and Neuro Psychiatric Hospital, Aro, both in Abeokuta.
