Kankara LG Recruits 0ne Doctor, 85 Auxilliary Health Workers

Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State on Wednesday said that it recruited one doctor and 85 auxiliary health workers to complement existing manpower needs in rural communities. Lawal said the workers were placed on monthly stipends to supplement existing 83 permanent workers and 150 workers engaged by state government to boost the health sector.

Lawal noted that a medical doctor was posted to Kankara township Primary Health care Centre to oversee patient wards, laboratory and consulting room constructions.  He said ambulance, medical equipment and other medical items would be provided for smooth take off of clinics and health centres to complement the efforts of the state government’s general hospital.

According to him, the free drug scheme will be monitored by a committee that comprises of religious and traditional leaders, health workers and independent associations.  The council Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Lawal, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kankara on Wednesday that the workers comprised of laboratory technologists, Community Health workers and others.
