Office of the First Lady of Kogi State in partnership with a United States based medical team, the National Association of
Nigerian Nurses in North America (NANNNA) will in the first week of December commence free medical outreach and capacity building for nurses in the state.
The four-day programme will commence with a flag off ceremony in Lokoja on Dec 2, a statement from the office said.
On December 3, the medical outreach will move to the Kogi State University Teaching Hospital (KSUTH), Anyigba, and Nagazi Comprehensive Health Centre in Adavi on December 4, the statement said.
A capacity building workshop aimed at equipping nurses and upgrading their status in the state will be held afterwards at the Kogi State College of Nursing and Midwifery, Obangede.
An estimated 10,000 people suffering from various ailments will be treated free in each of the centres.
