RE: Directive To All Members of JOHESU and APHA in the States And Local Government Health Institutions To Join In The Ongoing Industrial Action Earlier Started In The Federal Health Institutions On 12th November 2014

The attached directive on the above subject matter refers, We wish to officially inform Your Excellency that our Members within the State and Local Government Health Institutions are to Comply with the above directive from the National Body of JOHESU with IMMEDIATE EFFECT.

You would recall that aside from the issues raised as contained in the National directives, there are peculiarities within the state that have been begging for serious attention since the past four years. The issues Include and not limited to the following:

. Partial Implementation of disparity between the salary of the State and Local Government Health Workers and Non payment of arrears of salary as promised by the state government.

. Selective implementation of rural posting allowance for deserved health workers in the State and Local Government/Local Council Development Areas

. Career progression of Health Care Professionals'

. Marginalization of Health Care Professionals

. Acute shortage of Health Care Personnel in the State Health Institutions inspite of expansion of infractructure

. Engagement of Health Care Personnel on permanent basis in place of the ongoining contractual appointment
