The Nasarawa State Government has terminated the appointment of Ruqayyat Tijani Usman, a state counsel at the ministry of justice lafia for quering on FACEBOOK its efforts on the outbreak of lassa fever in the state.

 

Ruqayyat had earlier posted on facebook that "with the news of the death of Nurse Ibrahmim Oshafu, I am been forced to cut short my socil media vacation and ask the question people are afraid to ask. What proactive measure has the nasarawa state government taken since the outbreak of lassa fever in the state? There is no continuous awareness in the media about the disease. I havent seen or heard one statement from the government with regards to those who sacrificed thier lives (correct me if im wrong... with facts and evidence). I will suggest citizen action i.e voluntary services to create awareness to the ppl on the scourge of this killer disease and how best to handle victims.

 

she added that Nurse Oshafu was a very brilliant and kind hearted person i got to know. May his soul rest in peace and may Allah reward him for the sacrifice he made....

 

 

The goverment accused her of being critical to the same government she serves. In a letter obtained by medicalworld dated 25th February 2016, Daniel Agyeno the permanent secretary terminated her appointment on the grounds that her services are no longer required in consonance with paragraph A of her appointment letter. It further reads "you are by this letter requested to handover all government properties in your possession to your superior officer.
