The Chairman, Governing Council of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Teaching Hospital, Osogbo, Prof. Oluwole Atoyebi, has said some of the employees of the hospital may be moved to classrooms in public schools.
Atoyebi said this on Tuesday while appearing before the state House of Assembly over the alleged plan of the state government to sack some of the workers, who were reportedly recruited illegally. The Joint Health Sector Unions at the hospital has petitioned the lawmakers over the alleged plan to sack about 1,200 workers there.
However, the chairman said the hospital had not sacked any of the workers, while admitting that the hospital was overstaffed.
