The poor attitude of health care providers working in government owned health facilities is making Nigerians to prefer private health facilities even when the public hospitals are well equipped.
Minister of State for Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire stated this yesterday in Abuja during a symposium on patientsand health record officers relationship and quality assurance in training schools organized by the Health Record Officers Registration Board of Nigeria. He said the poor attitude of health workers has even contributed greatly to medical tourism which is costing the country a lot of foreign exchange.
Registrar/CEO of the Health Record Officers Registration Board of Nigeria, Alhaji Mohammed Ibrahim Mami called for the appointment of health record officers to serve in each of the 10,000 primary health care centres planned by the Federal Ministry of Health in the country.
