The Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) has promised to ensure that all diagnosis was accurate by ensuring that laboratories in Nigeria operate according to international standards.
The registrar of the council, Professor Anthony Emeribe who was speaking at the commissioning of the MLSCN headquarters/laboratories complex in Abuja noted that the mandate of the council was to make sure that Nigerians get the best of laboratory services.

"Council takes seriously its mandate of ensuring that citizens receive reliable reproducible medical laboratory based diagnosis in country to help stem the exodus to other climes for medical tourism, he said
Calling on the public to patronize only approved medical laboratory facilities and demand quality medical laboratory services as of right, the registrar said, patients and clinicians alike were now beginning to realise that the starting point of disease diagnosis and treatment is laboratory system to the country.
