A medical doctor, Mr. Femi Ale, has threatened to take legal action against the Plateau State Government and members of its committee that investigated the procurement of medical equipment for the new Government House Clinic.

 

Ale who was also the former physician of former Governor Jonah Jang, made the threat in a letter he sent to the governor of the state dated September 2, 2015.

 

Ale, in the letter written by his Counsel Ahamd S. Garba, esq, said their client have appeared before the committee more than twice and responded to questions on the issue at stake and had supplied relevant documents to justify his assertions.

 

 

The letter which was made available to journalists, said: “Our client became confused, disturbed and highly embarrassed with the unfair, unjust, unfounded and unjustifiable remarks of the chairman of the committee on the matter when the committee was submitting its report to the Government.

 

“The chairman of the committee specifically alleged that his committee discovered some ‘falsehood and lack of transparency’, in the handling of the contract”, adding that the allegation was “unfounded.”

 

According to the letter the airing of the committee’s report on the state-owned radio and television, as well as publication of some national daily newspapers, without the slightest consideration of the, “injury,” and damage it will cause him were “equally defamatory, embarrassing, unreasonable and very unfair,” more so that, “it has affected his integrity and professional calling.”
