Medical Practitioners Tasked on Ethical Standards

The Society of Gynaecology and Obstetrics of Nigeria (SOGON), Western sector has advised practitioners in the field to comply with the ethical standard in the profession “as unethical practice by some medical practitioners has endangered lives of many patients.”
 
Giving the charge at a quarterly symposium of the society held at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan , SOGON Western sector Chairman, Professor Okanlawon Odusoga expressed the hope that the symposium would go a long way to address the abnormalities.
 
A consultant obstetrician and gynecologist, Dr. Gbolahan Obajimi, who spoke on the topic: “Ethical issues in the management of infertility”, described infertility as the major reproductive concern in Nigeria which borders on arrays of issues and factors adding that ethics borders on the moral principle on doing what is right in a profession.
