The World Health Organisation has chosen Mother and Child Hospitals in Akure and Ondo as research centres for child and maternal health care delivery
Head of Reproductive Health and Research, WHO, Dr Femi Oladapo made the disclosure during a courtesy visit to Dr Olusegun Mimiko in his office in Akure
Dr Oladapo said the research was aimed at improving on the quality of care for women in labour in the society.
The WHO representative who noted that the International Health Organisation was looking forward to creating better tools for labour monitoring added that results from the Mother and Child Hospitals had been so far impressive.

Responding, Dr Olusegun Mimiko thanked the body for the recognition and promised to partner WHO to enhance health delivery across the state.
Dr Mimiko attributed the achievements to the commitment and dedication of the state's health workers and encouraged them to do sustain the tempo.
Speaking with newsmen after the visit, the State Commissioner for Health Dr Dayo Adeyanju said Mother and Child Hospital , Ondo had been selected as affiliated institution by two American Universities and that two staffers of the Medical Institution have been selected for Exchange program in US later this year.
