N7.5m Fraud Allegation Rocks Edo NMA

Posted on: Wed 07-10-2015

Crisis is currently brewing in the Edo State chapter of Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) over allegation of fraudulent financial misappropriation against past executive committee.

This is the outcome of a disciplinary committee set up to investigate the immediate past executive committee headed by Dr Emmanuel Ighodaro. The disciplinary committee in their report indicted his leadership and even recommended that the former chairman should refund N7.5 million representing the excess income not captured in his committee’s financial report.

A copy of the report which was obtained by LEADERSHIP yesterday also recommended that the association should formally write the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC) for necessary action.
