Nursingworld Nigeria has learnt that the University of Benin Teaching Hospital Chapter of the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives is set to commence a three day warning strike at 12 midnight today the 1st of November 2015.
You would recall that the Nurses had issued a 21day ultimatum which had elapsed without any favourable or tangible result from the managment. The Association in a letter signed by its secretary Comrade Owenaze Austin to the UBTH management warned that sequel to the expiration of the twenty one (21) days ultimatum given to meet their demands, They were embarking on a three (3) days warning strike.
Comrade Owenaze was further directed to notify the management that due to failure of the UBTH management to meet their demands, the three days strike will commence at 12 midnight on the 1st of November 2015 and all members except the heads of department (H.O.Ds) are to Participate. Efforts to reach the management of UBTH for comments on this issue proved abortive as at time of writing this report.
