A non-governmental organisation, The Heart of Love Foundation, based in the United States of America, USA, has concluded arrangements to build and operate a modern healthcare facility in Nigeria aimed at alleviating the sufferings of the poor and less-privileged.
Towards this, the sum of $35 million is being earmarked for the project which upon completion would compete with any other medical facilities in the Western world.
According to the Foundation’s media consultant, Prince Al Ihekwaba, the centre will, apart from providing healthcare, also create thousands of jobs, ranging from professional skilled medical practitioners to other unskilled staff.
Ihekwaba stated further that its projects are exclusively funded by monetary and material donations by individuals, companies, organizations and government bodies. “So far, about 12 organizations in the United States, including churches, have expressed interest in the project which is billed to be officially launched in the first week of April, 2016”.
On the choice of Nigeria for the project, the consultant said “the decision was borne out of the Foundation’s desire to contribute its quota to developing Africa, especially Nigeria, being the most populous black nation in the world”.
The project will boast of the following facilities on completion five primary care suites, two Operating Room Suites, recovery Room/PAC Suite.
Other facilities include, emergency/trauma Room Suite, Maternal/OB/Gyn Suite, Laboratory Suite and
Blood draw and Vitals Room.
Meanwhile, consultations are on-going with a committee of professionals on the exact location to site the project, expected to become operational in November 2017.
