As part of the ongoing restructuring of the health sector in Niger State, the governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello has unfolded plans to up-grade seven Primary Healthcare Centres (PHC) in the state to General Hospital status for secondary healthcare delivery.
The governor stated this yesterday during an unscheduled inspection of Sarkin Pawa Primary Healthcare Centre (one of the centres designated for up-grading) in Munya local government area of the state. According to Governor Bello the up-grading of the primary health facilities was in line with the policy of his administration at ensuring that each of the 25 local government areas of the state has a General Hospital.
