Nigeria Society of Physiotherapy Neuro-Physiotherapy Specialty Group (NSP-NSG)

Introduction: The Nigeria Society of Physiotherapy (NSP) Neurological Specialty Group was established on the 4th of July, 2012 during a workshop organized by the NSP at University of Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria.
Physiotherapists who have interest in the area of Neurological Physiotherapy agreed to start a specialty group during the workshop on Scientific Writing organized by the Education Committee of the NSP.
The group, which was officially recognized and certified by the National Executive of the NSP on Thursday, 18th of April, 2013 is poised to provide a platform for Neuro-Physiotherapists within and outside Nigeria to develop and hone their clinical skills.
 
Objectives
Our main objectives are:
To provide a platform where professionals in the area of Neuro-Physiotherapy can share knowledge, skill and experience which they have gained both formally and informally in the course of practicing in the area of Neuro-rehabilitation.
To assist in directing career and help focus on goal of being Neuro-Physiotherapists.
To provide an opportunity for Neuro-Physiotherapists to develop academic, clinical and research skills.
 
Membership
Membership is opened to any Physiotherapist who has any of the following 
An interest to pursue a career progression in Neuro-Physiotherapy
A consistent practice in the area of Neuro-Physiotherapy for any length of years
A higher degree in Neuro-Physiotherapy
And any other as decided by the members of the group

A. Continuing Education Programme

Seminars
E-learning platforms etc
The members will be enjoined to upgrade and update their knowledge on current trends in the management of conditions in the field of Neurological Physiotherapy. 
 
Whenever NSP-NSG organizes Continuing Education Programme, participants will be required to fulfill these two major conditions:
• At least 90% attendance for the entire programme (covering the topics); and
• Pass all assessment components.
