EXCEPTS:
During the Questions and Answers the following were disccused:
The topic of the Midwifery Service Scheme was tackled today. Partcipants were told that the nmcn had released a circular directing states to take ownership of MSS programs in their various states, this was done due to a few challenges this arrangement was reached.
The NMCN representatives also stated categorically that it was criminal to register any student midwife who has not done the MSS stating that while some states had already taken ownership of the MSS any school still hanging should mobilize for their Director of Nursing Services, State Ministry Of Health and State Primary Healthcare Board to do the needful and kickoff theirs.
These recommendation stand and all should note that the requirements for full registration for the MSS are:
. temporary license,
. log book from mss,
. cover letter from facility
Entrance Examinations Into Schools Of Nursing And Midwifery And Indexing
As already known to nurses and midwives, all Schools of Nursing/Schools of Midwifery are allocated slots for admissions. These slots signify the maximum number of students that can be indexed by the NMCN, this fact is very important as it should be understood that even if a school takes in more than its allocated number afterthe first SIX (6) Months of training every intake has to be indexed and during this period the schools are given the chance to weed out students and follow up with indexing those qualified.
Secondly, the entry requirement into either a school of nursing or midwifery remains 5 credit units in O'level and this must correspond with when the student was admitted. Anyone who doesnt have this would be dropped when indexing begins.
If the name of the student on their O'level result is different from the name on their registration forms, the individual would not be indexed. This is in addition to the fact that its only the names submitted on O'levels results that would be recognised (ie: even if you have 3names and your O'level has just 2, the 2 are the recognized names).
Note: If your school has 50slots and you register people based on connection, once 50 people has been indexed, the portal will automatically close on you. If those indexed after six months, some got eliminated along the way, no new person can replace them. The remainder are the only ones to write exam when its time
These are the rules on indexing

Indexing For Freshers
All students must start the application for indexing by themselves to avoid issues of conflicting names, spellings, Date Of Birth, with the desk officers only to clear them using their knowledge and other privileges.
