A bleak insight has been provided on the HIV/AIDS epidemic that there may not be cure for the virus even in the next 20 years.
This was disclosed by Director, Government Affairs, CIPLA Pharmaceutical Worldwide, Dr Denis Broun at the maiden edition of the National Agency for the Control of AIDs (NACA) annual Lecture on HIV/AIDS held in Abuja, yesterday. He was responding to a question on if there is an end in sight to the cure of HIV/AIDs to reduce the burden of daily use of Anti Retroviral (ARVS). However, another speaker at the event, Professor James Blanchard said there are good and affordable drugs that can help people living with the virus.
