NATIONAL AGENCY FOR FOOD AND DURG ADMINISTRATION AND CONTROL (NAFDAC)
NOTIFICATION OF DEADLINE FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF MOBILE AUTHENTICATION SERVICE (MAS) (TEXT MESSAGE SERVICE) FOR ANTI-MALARIALS AND ANTIBIOTICS MEDICINES
Following the directive of Honourable Minister of Health, Prof Christian Onyebuchi Chukwu, and in our resolute commitment to president Goodluck Jonathan's zero tolerance to counterfeit medicines in the country National Agency for food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) hereby direct all Manufactures, Imprters and Markerts of anti-malarial and antibiotic medicines who have not implemented the Mobile Authentication Services (MAS)- (Seratch and Text/Short Message Services) to do so on before 1st July, 2014
NAFDAC warms that manufacturers and importers who fail to comply with this directive will have their products de-registered mopped out of circulation and destroyed Similarly, members of the public are advised to report and violation to the nearest NAFDAC office for apporpriates action.

Implementation of this directive will put the power of medicines authetication into the hands of over 100 million Nigerian phone users and further support our efforts to secure the drug supply chain and effectively eliminate claminate counterfeits medicines from circulation
