Pfizer pharmaceutical company has pledged commitment to support the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) in carrying out its pharmaceutical duties. Pfizer Director Corporate Affairs/Health & Value, Margaret Olele, made this known, while receiving the newly elected President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), Ahmed Yakasai and his Executives, at their head office in Ikoyi, Lagos.
She said the visit would help strengthen pharmacy alliance, improve their agenda for the society, and leverage support for wider advocacies nationwide. Aside from its drug selling business, The Commercial Director for Pfizer Nigeria, Yinka Subair, said the company intends to inform the pharmacists on medical information that would guide the operational practice of pharmacy.

In appreciation, the PSN President commended Pfizer for being one of the Pharmaceutical companies at the forefront in corporate social responsibilities and in the use of digital technology.
He reiterated his vision for the actualization of drug distribution guidelines, curriculum training for pharmacists, enhanced newsletter for the association, insurance cover for pharmacists, and harmonization between pharmacists and other healthcare workers.
“Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) is an organisation set up to maintain high standards of Professional ethics and discipline among its members, promote legislation for the enhancement of its image and the interest of the Pharmacy Profession and the Practitioners in Nigeria”.
