Pfizer Nigeria Plc has honoured pharmacists who distinguished themselves in community health care services across the country.
Explaining the rationale for the award, which was presented at the 88th National Conference of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, its Marketing Director, West & East Africa, Mr. Winston Ailemoh, said the gesture was to recognise excellence and positive contributions of the pharmacists.
Ailemoh said, “Pfizer is proud to associate with individuals and groups who are committed to improving the lives of Nigerians such as the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria.
“It is clear that the individuals recognised today have made their mark to advance the cause of health care in Nigeria.”
Among the recipients are the chief executive officer, HealthPlus, Margaret Obono, Mrs. Olubukunola George, Mrs. Ololade Alabi, Mr. Chuks Onyibe, and Audu Mohammed.
Meanwhile, the company on the occasion also inaugurated two consumer products, Centrum and Caltrate, within the supplements and multivitamin category.
The Marketing Manager, Pfizer Consumer Health, Sue Cartwright, said many Nigerians were suffering from micronutrient deficiency; hence, the need for the supplement.
According to Cartwright, the supplement provides necessary nutrients lacking in daily meals.
