A meeting of the Association of Public Health Physicians of Nigeria (APHPN) is slated for Abuja from March 14 to 18 to deliberate on universal health coverage and public health issues affecting Nigerians.
The meeting which will be APHPN’s32nd National Scientific Conference and Annual General Meeting is tagged ‘Abuja 2016’ and has the theme ‘Universal Health Coverage: The Way Forward in Attaining SDGs in Nigeria’.
A statement from the association said the sub themes of the conference includes sustaining the momentum in polio eradication in Nigeria, emerging, re-emerging and neglected tropical diseases, lessons learnt from Ebola disease and public health challenges of managing internally displaced persons in the country.
Other sub themes include leveraging secondary data for teaching and research, operationalizing the National Health Act and the role of quality maternal health in achieving gender equality.
APHPN is the umbrella body of medical doctors who specialize in public health with the aim of advancing public health practise in Nigeria
