THE President, National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (NPMCN), Prof. Rasheed Arogundade, yesterday decried the slow pace of infrastructural development at the college established to produce specialists in all branches of medicine and dentistry.
Speaking at the 2015 preconvocation briefing in Lagos, Arogundade said prior to the establishment of the college, all postgraduate medical trainings were done abroad, thus the creation of NPMCN to provide world-class services in teaching, research and healthcare.
He then wondered why the college established by a decree enacted on September 24, 1979, (now Cap. N59 Laws of the federation of Nigeria 2004) and saddled with the responsibility of producing specialists for the country is allowed to suffer such lack
He then appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to ensure that all the money recovered from his anti-corruption stance is channeled to meet the crying needs in the field of education and health, among others.
