About 20 private health facilities in Kaduna State have been allowed access to the federal government’s free family planning commodities as part of efforts towards making the commodities available to every woman of child bearing age in Nigeria.
The free family planning commodities pilot facilities in the state include Sefiya Maternity Centre, Dangiwa Memorial Hospital, Mega Hospital, ECWA Health Centre, TOP Clinic, Taimako Hospitals, Solid Foundation Hospital, Rimi Specialist Clinic and Maternity and Dayo Clinic and Maternity.
Others include: Restoration Hospital, Iyali Hospital, Albarka Hospital, Jowako Specialist Hospital, Maneks Hospital, Gemini Hospital, Salvation Hospital and Maternity, Biba Specialist Hospital, Diamond Hospital, Ramao Nursing and Maternity and Graceland HAGwOP Hospital. Speaking at the flag-off of the pilot program, the team leader of Strengthening Health Outcome through the Private Sector (SHOPS) Mrs. Ayodele Iroko explained that the free family planning pilot in private health facilities would be carried out in three local government areas of the state including Kaduna North, Kaduna South and Chikun for the period of six months.
