Radiography Politics In Nigeria Has Transmogrified Into Ethnic Bigotry : A Call For Immediate Resignation Of The President And National Secretary Of The Association Of Radiographers Of Nigeria

All Radiographers in Nigeria /Colleagues in Diaspora: My attention has been drawn to a malicious petition (copy attached for easy reference) written against me to the Honourable minister for health by the president and national Secretary of the Association of Radiographers of Nigeria.  This  defamatory essay grossly maligned my person  as the duo of the president and Secretary accused me of corrupt practices in Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria, a parastatal l never worked with or did any contract for. This petition was also written secretly contrary to the oath of office as the council members were not contacted. Mr Sani Hamzar, the first vice president of the association  has swiftly reported that he did not know about the petition.

This unfolding political conundrum has made it glaringly conspicuous that the president and the (her) secretary are partisan. They have also gone against the oath of office by this absurdity. This petition may not be unconnected with the fact that l am a frontline campaigner against madam president's unapproved  withdrawals and frivolous spending of the association's money. Regrettably,  the bulk of this money come from young inductees who are conscripted into the association against their fundamental rights to freedom of association.  The future of these young ones who are conscripted into the association are not even protected by the president as she has avoided the autonomy case instituted by the Medical lmaging Society of Nigeria  (MISON) and has also endorsed the training of rural nurses in ultrasound; actions that have further mortgaged the future of our junior colleagues.

In view of the above, l earnestly make the following calls:

1. That madam president and the national Secretary should immediately resign;

2. That henceforth, all meetings called by the duo should be boycotted;

3.That all payments into the ARN account should be stopped without further delay;

4. That all HODs must stop coercing students into payment of ten thousand naira as the compulsory levy for ARN prior to induction.  This action which contravenes the students rights to freedom of association could be litigated against as the prosecutors could be deemed corrupt. Students and inductees  should also resist this levy.

Thank you.
