The Association of Resident Doctors at the Federal teaching hosptial Ido Ekiti have appealed to the chief Medical Director of the institution to reconsider his stance on their minimum demands. This appeal was contained in a memo to the CMD dated 5th of August 2015 and signed by the Association President and General Secretary.
Titled "Re: ILLEGITIMATE DEDUCTION AND DELIBERATE WITHOLDING OF SALARY & OTHER REMUNERATIONS", the memo reads:
Sequel to your appeal at the meeting held on the 3rd August 2015, the Association of Resident Doctors, Federal Teaching Hospital Ido Ekiti, arising from an EGM held on the 5th August, 2015 wishes to put to you a counter- appeal for you to reconsider your stance on our minimum demands as itemised earlier in our letters & communique dated as follow:

2. 29th June, 2015, communique of EGM; backed by a circular and an explanatory note from the PS, FMOH dated 29th July, 2015.
3. 3rd August, 2015 new circular & explanatory note
That is:
A. Immediate recommencement of skipping for Doctors with arrears from May 2015 as you publicly promised will be effected from July 2015 salary.
B. Immediate implementation of new entry point for House Officers with arrears from January 2015 as you publicly promised on the 3rd of August, 2015.
C. Immediate payment of backlogs of updates & examination refunds running to 40months. This you promised will be effected last year September & December, 2015.
D. Immediate payment of 2014 annual step increment for all members of staff.
E. Immediate payment of promotion arrears to doctors and other health workers.
F. Immediate payment of relocation allowances to doctors in the last 3 years.
G. Immediate payment of salaries of newly employed Doctors on IPPIS who are yet to be paid or not fully paid up to date.
H. Immediate payment of complete salaries to Doctors on IPPIS and GIFMIS who have been shortchanged in the past.
In addition to the above, the house reject in totality the various anomalies noted in the recently released promotion letters for Doctors. We look forward again to the fulfillment of your promise made on the 3rd of August, 2015 to use your executive power to correct these.
We wish to inform you of the stoppage by the accounts department the deduction of the Association's monthly check-off dues and request immediate reversal of this.
The Association wishes to reiterate that the industrial action will continue to linger until all these demands are fully met by you because, to the best of our understanding, the FG has done the needful.
We anticipate your earnest reconsideration and rectification in these regards.
Thank you.
